I am Dr. Sunitha Dinesh and I have been working with ATLAS as a dental surgeon from April-09 onwards. Prior to joining ATLAS, I had the opportunity of practicing Dentistry for more than 12 years in Oman, offering my service and winning the confidence of scores of patients from all walks of life. I also consider very valuable the three years of exposure I obtained from City Orthodontic Centre at Kochi before coming to Sultanate of Oman.

Born as daughter of a Paediatrician in the family of medical professionals and bought up with lone brother, who now is a professor in Anaesthesiology, I always inspired to become self sufficient and independent in my life.

By seeing the doctor's service to the society and recognising the same as a noble profession, I had the ambition in my childhood to become a doctor.

During my school days I was a member of Red Cross society and Bharat scouts and guides and attended many district and state level camps. I received the Indian President Guide award in 1984 from the then President Sri. Gyani Zail Singh. I became the top scorer and best outgoing student of the year 1985. I had good artistic skill in my school days which I continued to cherish even now also.

Life moved quickly but memorably as a dental student, realising that Dentistry is a wonderful blend of art and science where I could utilise my artistic talents. With the increase in population and the awareness, as a dentist, I realised that the demand and need for dentistry in the modern society rises steadily. I can proudly submit that I am one among the innovative members of the community of Dentists.

I started my profession as a general dental practitioner, later on I was selected as a Civil Surgeon in Kerala Health Services. As a dentist I could help people to maintain and improve their oral health and appearance.

I had many memorable incidents in my profession on many occasions. One among it was, during my practise, I had to treat a disabled person from Salalah who was suffering for a long period and underwent treatment from a number of doctors. Later on completion of the treatment she was so relieved and complimented me by telling "You are like my mother, you are a gifted and caring dentist sent by God Almighty". On another occasion, on successful completion of surgery a lady patient held my hand and told "God has worked through your hands". On both the occasions I was really moved as I could notice the feeling from the bottom of their hearts.

Working with ATLAS has been fantastic; it's squeamish to witness the expansion of the institution with inauguration of Hospital at Ruwi. As our services penetrate and expand into more and more population of Oman I assert to hold fast the well-disposed atmosphere, best performance, dedication and the utmost care you have been experiencing.
