Hi, I am Dr. Sheema Govind, hailing from Kerala, southern part of India. It's indeed a pleasure for me to be part of ATLAS Hospital as a Specialist Gynecologist.

I chose to become an Obstetrician/Gynecologist because of early parental influence and my interests in school. This career field encompasses many specialties that focus on the care of women and their families as well. As a health care provider in the field of Obstetrics & Gynecology you are privileged to provide valuable guidance in breast and cervical cancer, urinary tract and pelvic disorders, hormonal disorders, or childbirth and counseling women throughout their pregnancy.

What I like best about my work is the diversity of my workday. No two days are exactly alike. I especially enjoy interacting with the families as they bring a new life into the world.

Once I finished my masters in Gynecology I gained valuable experience and knowledge regarding management of high risk pregnancies, gynecologic emergencies, infertility treatment and indeed my favorite laparoscopy. As years passed by, my role in assisting metamorphosed into leading the team in performing surgeries, teaching juniors and nursing staff regarding various aspects in obstetric and gynecologic procedures both in theatre and ward. As I matured as a Gynecologist my interest in the field of laparoscopy (key hole surgery) grew and at present I specialize in laparoscopic procedures starting from diagnostic laparoscopy, lap cystectomy, lap myomectomy and lap hysterectomy.

I have been in this beautiful country of Sultanate of Oman for the last 3 years where I was fortunate enough to treat and help women of various nationalities who consider me as one among their family member.

I am indeed happy to provide my services in ATLAS group which is known for its patient friendly approach and ethical practice in the field of medicine. I hope to provide valuable service to the people of Sultanate of Oman where expats also make a large volume in alleviating their worries related to Woman health. Education
